Aerobics – Increasing aerobic fitness means that we are able to work our bodies long enough at an intensity adequate to reap such benefits as lowering blood pressure, lowering resting heart rate and increasing metabolism. Aerobic fitness is important to maintaining a healthy heart and a healthy body.

Being able to make quick adjustments when we walk means that we can avoid painful falls. Most people take balance for granted, but it’s something that we can teach the body to learn. We can teach the body to engage small muscles that we can’t even see and we work to increase reaction time. How long can you stand on one leg?

Strength – Strength isn’t just about muscles or moving large weights. We can build strength by using our own body weight. And strength goes far beyond the muscles we can see. There are muscles we can’t see, as well as bones and connective tissue deep beneath the skin and they all benefit from strength training.
